Co-founder and Head of Music at Boomtown Fair’s “Botanica Zoo” micro-venue, Ekula is a London-based producer/DJ, radio-host and educator working primarily with dubstep, uk garage, breaks and jungle. Under this alias and previously as half of Six Sunsets, Ekula has performed for major brands including Fabriclondon, Outlook Festival, Boomtown Fair, Bangface Weekender and Rinse FM, alongside having completed two US tours with Opus. Ekula also runs the club night, record label and online-community, All Colours Music, which holds a monthly residency on Subtle Radio and is responsible for the “Breaks, Steps & Bass” VA release series which has received glowing reviews and support on DJ Mag, Juno Download, Rinse FM and more.

Ekula’s own productions have been increasingly well-received over the past few years, with tracks featuring on major platforms such as BBC Radio 1 (Tailor Jae), BBC Radio 1 Dance (Jaguar), BBC Radio 1Xtra (Emerald / Sian Anderson / J Oh Zee), BBC 6 Music Recommends (Mary Anne Hobbs), Rinse FM (N-Type show / Emerald / Keysound / Swamp 81 Show / Eliza Rose Show / Slimzee / Marcus Nasty Show / Club Glow), Boiler Room (Kikelomo) and Fabriclondon.com (Ila Brugal) alongside a range of underground stations worldwide. Ekula has worked with the likes of Daddy Freddy, Deemas J, Mista Jago, Natty Campbell and Ell Murphy, alongside received: remix opportunities from names such as Benny ill, Benton and Mandidextrous; reviews in Mixmag, Polymerzine and other respected opinion-bases; and employment as a music theory and production tutor for Nomine’s ‘Education & Bass’ platform.
